Simple Fried Rice/Nasi Goreng
**Ingredients:**

* 1 cup cooked jasmine rice, cold
* 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
* 2 cloves garlic, minced
* 1 small onion, chopped
* 1 carrot, shredded
* 1 cup frozen peas
* 2 eggs, beaten
* 2 tablespoons soy sauce
* 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional)
* 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
* 1/4 teaspoon salt
* Chopped green onions, for garnish

**Instructions:**

1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
2. Add the garlic and onion and cook until softened, about 2 minutes.
3. Add the carrot and peas and cook until the carrot is tender, about 5 minutes.
4. Push the vegetables to the sides of the skillet and pour in the beaten eggs. Scramble the eggs until cooked through.
5. Add the cooked rice, soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), black pepper, and salt. Stir to combine.
6. Cook until the rice is heated through and slightly browned, about 5 minutes.
7. Garnish with chopped green onions and serve immediately.

**Tips:**

* For the best results, use day-old rice. Freshly cooked rice will be too moist and sticky.
* If you don’t have oyster sauce, you can substitute fish sauce or hoisin sauce.
* Feel free to add other vegetables to your fried rice, such as broccoli, bell peppers, or corn.
* You can also add protein to your fried rice, such as cooked chicken, shrimp, or beef.
